Thirsty Thursday: Under The Sea

Happy Thirsty Thursday! Cheers to making it through another week! This week it felt like summer and all I wanted to do was lounge out by the pool. It just made me think of my absolute favorite Disney Movie: “The Little Mermaid.” This drink is a basic version and I would love to see what you guys come up with.

To make this Under the Sea cocktail you only need two ingredients but you can add in any toppings you want to make it sparkle!

Ingredients:
◦ Blue Curaçao
◦ Barefoot Bubbly Prosecco (you could use a different Champagne if you’d prefer but I liked this one.)

Directions:
◦ Pour one ounce of the blue curaçao into your champagne flute.
◦ Pour in champagne as desired.
◦ Sip and enjoy!

Now if you wanna make this more interesting you can add a rim of simple syrup and put blue or gold glitter on the rim of the flute. You could also add in Swedish Fish or shark gummies to make this more of a party favorite. If you really wanna make it fun you can add a rock candy sucker and to the drink. The sky is the limit with creativity so please please please tag me with how you make this because I wanna see!

Dex’s Corner · Pupper!

Dex’s Corner: Summer tans and Winter blues.

Hi guys. It’s me Dex. Mom went out for a bit so I took her computer! I must admit I’m getting pretty good typing on this thing!

I think I’m beginning to like this whole work from home thing. I get to cuddle more with both Mom and Dad plus more time hanging out in the sun.

Okay, I want opinions on this weather. Are you guys more fall people or summer? I love the summer. It’s warm on my fur and I love the lounging outside in the backyard. When it gets too cold I just shiver and shiver. It’s not fun. Plus the snow is too high and it gets my belly all wet. Spring is good but I don’t love it. Wet paws just aren’t my thing; the warmer weather is nice tho. I do like fall. I love chasing the leaves and pine cones are my jam. I’m all for the fall smells too. Mom lights so many candles and sometimes she makes cookies and I get a nibble. The only downside to the fall tho is it gets really cold; then boom snow!

Mom says I look the cutest in my fall outfits. In winter I’m just too puffy to move! I still look handsome though. The best outfit in my opinion is nakey. I love lounging in the summer in the grass but hey I can’t always be nakey in the sun. Sometimes I have to keep my belly covered.

So tell me which picture is your favorite of me in the sand. The warm sand in Hilton Head or the Snowy sand in Pourt Huron? Obviously I love the sand.

Thirsty Thursday: Hot Chocolate and Kahlua Peppermint Mocha.

Happy Thirsty Thursday! This week it’s been kinda chilly for August; like windows open, long sleeves, kinda chilly. For this week I’m breaking out the Hot Chocolate and Kahlua Peppermint Mocha.

To make this you can take any hot chocolate you want. I’m gonna use Swiss Miss since it’s my all time favorite. (Side note: I use my milk frother and heat the milk instead of water and it just tastes so much richer. After the cocoa is made I pour in one shot of the Kahlua but you’re welcome to pour as much or as little as you want to make this drink more your own.

To make this drink more decadent you should add whip cream and chocolate shavings. Since this isn’t the drink I was planning to make but it sounded amazing I’m skipping this step…

All right. You should enjoy this all fall and winter. If you have any fun variations let me know. I’m happy to try to mix it up!

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam

I’m going to be the first to admit it. I love makeup and fashion. I love the idea of doing my hair but I’m not the best at it. To be brutally honest when I’m really having issues I’ve openly referred to my hair style as looking like a burnt cactus. Not great I know but I’m getting better and better!

Recently I’ve been trying to do more with tanner since Corona. Why not? No one can see me so what’s the harm. So when my most recent Birchbox had a self tanner included it was a challenge! I tried the Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam. It is a dark color so I’m not gonna lie, I was extremely nervous. I’m a pale girl; there is no hiding it. I burn more often than I tan but I thought why not.

So full disclosure. I put lotion on my wrists, ankles, knees and elbows before I did the tanner. (If you put lotion on the trickier spots first it helps to make sure you don’t get too much product in the area.) I put on my mitt and gave three squirts then slowly took long swipes up my legs. I went slowly to make sure I got everywhere so I did ankles to knees then knees to hip. I did my arms in one swipe, I also got chest and back too. By breaking it up a little I think I got a better overall application.

I did not put any on my face. I have sensitive skin so I’m very cautious with my face and I’ll just use a little bronzer.

So for this tanner you let it set for an hour and you can leave it on to develop for as long as you’d like but not longer than six hours. I did an hour to start. I could see it starting to tan so I left it going. That being said I don’t wanna look fake so I only left it on for another hour then washed it off.

After the shower and drying off it looked lighter than preshower but still a really good overall tan. It doesn’t look streaky and is a really nice even tan. The one think I did learn is while I did a good job applying the tanner I needed more on my arms. They look maybe a shade lighter which is completely ok since my legs probably get more sun normally than my arms but I learned this so I wanna share it with you guys.

If you’re interested in grabbing it I have the mitt I used and the tanner linked below.

Thirsty Thursday: Crystal Light White Claw

Happy Thirsty Thursday! Today I wanted something to make hanging in the back yard more fun without a ton of work (both prep and clean up lol!). So I decided to try taking my White Claw up a notch. The ingredients you will need are a Crystal Light packet of your choosing and a White Claw of your choosing.

I went with a Lime flavored Claw and a Strawberry Crystal Light. I mixed the two in my large tumble with ice and let me tell you it was heavenly!

Okay here is how I did it! I grabbed my tumbler and a reusable straw to start. The first thing I did was pour in my crystal light packet. Then I added ice in to my cup. After the ice I poured in my Claw! Then stirred until it was fully mixed in. After that step you are good to drink.

I will be keeping this on repeat all summer. It’s perfect for the warm sunny days!

Billie Razor Review

Put your hands up if you’ve tried the Billie Razor? Okay, for my ladies who have used it and loved it wave at my ladies who are reading this and can’t wait to try it!

So I decided to try this during quarantine because I had too much free time. I grabbed the starter kit because it’s $9 and includes the razor, the holder and a blade. It’s a complete razor and holder for under $10! Plus the refill pack is $9 for four new blades.

I was hesitant. I know everyone was swearing by them online but I just struggled with a great razor costing me only $10 bucks.

Well let me tell you I was 100 wrong to be skeptical. Tithe razor came and worked amazingly like I don’t know how to live without it in my life now. Plus it gets mailed right to my door and I don’t even have to think about it.

I also bought their shaving cream and I really like it too. It goes on thickly and makes it easier to see where I need to shave. I’m going to be honest, I don’t necessarily realize the spots I missed until it’s too late so this is a life saver. It is really creamy and smooth. You mix it in your hands and then lather up your legs. It makes shaving feel like butter. The razor glides over the hair and leaves nothing behind plus I don’t get razor burn and no knicks! It’s beautiful.

Before!
After!

Here is a little video of shaving to show you how well it worked!

Thirsty Thursday: Fruitscato

This week we’re having a wine night! This one is a fruitscato from Barefoot. I originally had it at a friends house. She had the peach wine and it was amazing! She told me she bought it over at Kroger for under $10 a bottle.

This inspired Grant and I to go looking at Kroger for other variations. They have peach, strawberry and apple. They run about $7.99 a bottle but if you buy four you get a percentage off at Kroger. Currently the peach is on sale, 2 for $11.

We had the Apple fruitscato. It was crisp, and refreshing while still sweet. It’s the best summer wine and it’s perfect when chilled.

We got to sit back and relax on the patio while sipping our wine. Trust me if that sounds good to you then I highly recommend this! It felt like sipping on a cool fall evening in the middle of summer!
